What's new in ElectricCommander?

ElectricCommander version 3.7 integrates seamlessly into a development team's current environment with fully customizable user dashboards and project "tagging." ElectricCommander also provides the tools to create and share custom plugins for smoother integration with application life cycle management tools, homegrown tools, custom workflows, etc.

New features and recent enhancements include:

  • Usability enhancements:
    • New home page dashboards provide improved insight into overall project health. Users can configure their personal dashboard with thumbnail views of reports and other useful information.
    • Users can "tag" projects to create categories of related materials and filter the display of projects in the UI based on tags.
  • Enhanced customization features:
    • Plugin library - new and enhanced plugins for ALM tools and processes
    • Plugin API – Package, install, and deploy additional features and customizations to any Commander environment
    • Customizable user interface - Interface is fully customizable, including creating custom dashboards, dynamic forms, and adding/removing/reordering tabs in the web interface
  • Simplified user experience:
    • Intuitive, step-by-step wizard guides new users through setup and execution of common build-test-deploy tasks
  • Improved fault tolerance and reliability:
    • Failover - If the Commander server is shut down or the network connection between the server and agent is severed, the server retrieves "previously running" job status when connection is re-established
    • A misfire policy - choose between two options to manage how a schedule resumes in cases where the normal scheduled time is interrupted
