The Territory Development Representative is responsible for lead generation, qualification and lead management. This is an opportunity to significantly impact building a great company while building your sales career.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Will conduct 100+ outbound campaign calling and relationship management activities per day to business prospects in assigned territory.
- Create customer interest, answer questions and initiate sales process; do lead generation in target accounts.
- Process any inbound or campaign-based calls, provide lead follow up and referral management.
- Capture pertinent customer data elements to increase knowledge of the prospect and work with Marketing to maintain the prospect database.
- Prepare tracking reports: activities, focused calling plans, leads generated, etc.
- Work closely with Field Rep(s) and Manager in coordinating territory activity.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree (Major of Business, Marketing, Economics, Computer Science or Math a plus: MBA a double plus).
- Two to four years of technology inside sales experience (Inside sales of software a plus; inside sales of software development tools such as build, SCM or ALM tools a double plus).
- Desire for a career path from inside lead generation to inside sales to outside sales a plus.
We are looking for bright, energetic, highly-motivated individuals with outstanding
technical skills to join our field sales team. You will be working directly
with account executives to qualify and position Electric Cloud solutions to
solve complex software build and release problems for prospective customers.
You will also work directly with engineers (both ours and our customers') to
manage and implement trial deployments on site. You will be expected to:
- Quickly understand new developer tools, technologies, and platforms and
integrate them with our products
- Identify, isolate and resolve complicated performance and correctness issues
- Coordinate work across large teams and organizations to deliver working,
scalable solutions on tight schedules
This position requires:
- Significant past experience as a developer or build/SCM administrator
- Good working knowledge of scripting languages (eg, Perl)
- Familiarity with C/C++ and build tools like GNU Make and Visual Studio
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
The ideal candidate will also have experience as a Sales/System Engineer selling
tools to software developers. Outstanding communication, problem-solving and
organizational skills will be necessary to be successful in this position. Significant
travel (50%) is expected.

Electric Cloud is looking for a talented and ambitious software developer to
join our high-powered team. In this position you will join the Electric Cloud
team as a support engineer for our ElectricAccelerator product. This product
is used by software developers, so our support engineers need to fully understand
the process of building software and have strong technical skills. We find that
developers make the best support engineers for our products because they understand
the structure of software builds including Make, dependencies, libraries, platform
differences, caching algorithms, networking, and concepts in parallel computing.
This position will expose you to some of the largest, most complicated software
projects in the world; you will work directly with key build and release engineers
at other companies to diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems over a very
wide range of tools and technologies.

To build and maintain automation tools for Electric Cloud software products
to ensure that customer installations are reliable, supportable and simple.
To provide leadership in overall approach for development and implementation
of installation and upgrades and any related installation activity. To apply

Essential Functions:
- Maintains, extends and enhances tools, procedures and documents to ensure
that software installations and upgrades are simple, reliable and supportable.
- Develops and implements scripts and tests to ensure that installation and
upgrade processes conform with industry best practices.
- Makes recommendations of ways to improve the installation and upgrade experience
for our users.
- Makes recommendations of ways to improve the internal management of installation
and upgrade tools, scripts and processes.
- Is able to build scripts and tools that work in Windows and Linux environments
with maximal code re-use. These tools may be related to installation or in
support of other tools in the product.
- Is responsible for working independantly, amongst product teams and manage
competing priorities.
- Reviews quality trends, tracks the root cause of problems, and coordinates
correction actions whenever issues are encountered with installations and
upgrades
- Integrates lessons learned from resolutions of quality issues back into
the the product.
Requirements:
- Four-year degree in Computer Science or related field with very technical
grasp on fine details of computer science.
- Effective human relations skills, including good listening ability and
the capability to convince others to establish or change precedents.
- Effective written communication skills including the ability to generate
documentation and reports.
- Familiarity with various scripting languages such as Bourne Shell, Perl,
and MS Bat files.
- Familiarity with installer platforms such as “Installshield”
but has also written installers that execute on the unix command line.
- Familiarity with Windows and Unix environments
